We worked with Pencil to evaluate their current brand and deliver recommendations on how to strengthen their presence in the community. We developed a strong core message, a simplified explanation of their programs and partnership with MNPS and core marketing collateral.
Through interviews, stakeholder surveys and research, we discovered opportunities to strengthen the messaging visually and verbally. Core brand messaging and was developed and key brand attributes were identified. To maintain a consistent brand across the organization’s many programs, a system for communicating about the programs was established.
One of Pencil’s key challenges was communicating their partnership with schools and the community to serve students. To ease this challenge, we created a shortened verbal explanation and an infographic to visually explain the partnership.
Taking what we learned in the brand review, we worked with Pencil to design a comprehensive marketing piece that was used as the first platform for showcasing the refreshed brand – logos, infographic, colors and photography.
A well-designed brand system – clear verbal message paired with a strong visual foundation – conveys a warm and friendly tone that exemplifies Pencil’s impact.
