As an affiliate of a national organization, Hands On Nashville adheres to an established brand identity. HON’s brand consistency needed to be maintained in the Nashville market.
We functioned as HON’s out-of-house creative director, managing the design of communication and marketing materials for the organization, including advertising, event collateral and corporate partner communications.
One example of this work was a campaign to “be an agent of change”. We delivered a visual system that represented this concept. With the launch of the HON Urban Farm, a natural and handmade look was established. This stylistic approach was applied to ongoing advertising and program information. This style allowed Hands On Nashville’s marketing to be eye-catching without straying too far from the original brand.
Hands On Nashville Day is Hands On Nashville’s largest annual fundraiser and volunteer service event. Thousands of volunteers serve to landscape, paint and clean Metro Nashville Public Schools. Since the event is all about sprucing up schools and nearly 1,200 gallons of paint are used in the process, the imagery for the event was a paintbrush swipe. This wide blue stroke is featured on all event collateral, like posters, postcards and T-shirts. All fonts and colors are on brand and consistent with style guidelines, but the added textures make the event customized to HON.
This stylized and textured look continued to be used on other advertising and promotional materials for Hands On Nashville.
